The Rossini Opera Festival proves once that it knows how to reignite the fire of rarely performed Rossini works. The RAI Orchestra “performed flawlessly” (Bachtrack) with Rossini expert Michele Mariotti. Anastasia Bartoli portrayed a “heartbreaking, vengeful and seductive” (Le Soir) Ermione, Juan Diego Flórez as Oreste is on top bel canto form, his duets with Bartoli “magical” (Bachtrack).
